frequently asked questions
How do I book a session?
I recommend having some sort of consultation before booking where we talk about what you’re looking for from your session, the locations you’re interested in, how many people will be joining you, etc. (Mini sessions don’t require such an in-depth consultation since most aspects are pre-planned.) Then, I will send you a contract to fill out and sign to ensure we are on the same page. Once that is returned to me, I will accept your e-transferred 50% non-refundable retainer fee and your session will officially be booked!
What is a mini session?
Mini sessions are quick photoshoots (15-30 minutes) that are held at a pre-determined location, on one or two days, with a set theme. You will still receive a variety of gorgeous photos in a small gallery , but for a cheaper price than a full session. Since minis are promotional sessions they only happens a few times a year, such as Christmas themed minis or Valentines Day Minis.
I don’t like certain aspects of my body, can you change and edit them out?
We all go through moments where we don’t love every part of our bodies, however every body is beautiful. While I edit for colour correction and to remove distracting things from the background, like people, I do not edit your body to look different, like slimming down bellies. If you have some facial blemishes, like a surprise pimple, that you want removed from your photos I can accommodate that, just let me know!
What camera do you shoot with?
I am currently using a Canon 90d.
I know how to edit photos, can you provide me with the raws and I’ll edit them myself?
Taking photos is only part of what I do. While a lot of work goes into planning and capturing your special moments during the actual session, the editing process is what makes your session complete. I understand that there are many different preferences for editing photos, so during our consultation I provide you with an opportunity to fully explain to me what type of editing you want - light and bright, vibrant, dark and moody, black and white, etc.
I want to post my pictures on social media, but I also want to hang them on my wall. Is that ok?
Absolutely! During our consultation I will ask what you want to use your photos for so I can provide you with the right files. Without getting too technical, when you intend to view pictures on a device they will need to have a certain amount of points (DPI). This number is different from a printed photo. If you try to print an image with a DPI set for a digital image it will be pixelated.
